Bicyclist killed in Huntington Beach crash identified as beloved pastor, father of 4

 HUNTINGTON BEACH, CA — A wave of fury is sweeping across the community after a senseless and criminal act of selfishness claimed the life of a beloved local pastor and father of four, shattering a family and injuring two others in a horrific DUI hit-and-run crash.

The victim of this staggering loss of life has been identified as Eric Williams, 45, the founder of the Community Church of West Garden Grove. Williams was tragically killed on Monday morning as he rode his bicycle on Pacific Coast Highway, a treasured fixture of the community who was snatched away by a driver whose alleged recklessness demonstrates a complete disregard for human life.

Williams was one of three cyclists violently struck by a vehicle near the intersection of PCH and Newland Street. Compounding the brutality of the crash, the driver—identified as Amber Kristine Calderon, 43, of Long Beach—didn't stop. Instead, she allegedly fled the scene, continuing to drive for approximately half a mile before finally being apprehended.

Police have confirmed that Calderon was arrested on suspicion of DUI, felony hit-and-run, gross vehicular manslaughter, and possession of narcotics. The combination of these charges paints a damning picture of a catastrophic failure of personal responsibility that has robbed four children of their father and a community of a spiritual leader.

"She took his life, just like that in moments," said a devastated friend, highlighting the raw grief and anger felt by those who knew Pastor Williams.

While the two other victims are recovering from severe injuries, the community is left to grapple with the devastating reality that a beautiful life, dedicated to serving others, was extinguished by a cocktail of impairment and indifference.
