Woman sat down on lawn chair in median after crashing car with ex's dead body in back seat
MINNEAPOLIS (WKRC) - Two Good Samaritans attempting to help a woman after a car crash discovered a dead body in her back seat as she sat on a lawn chair in the road median.
According to information from the Olmsted County Sheriff's Office, 32-year-old Margot Lewis crashed her car on Interstate 90 at around 7 a.m. on June 22, 2024.
"In checking to see if anyone else was in the vehicle, a deceased individual, a 35-year-old female, was located in the back seat," the department wrote. "The condition of the deceased was suspicious, and it was immediately apparent that the death was not a result of the motor vehicle accident."
MPR News reported that Lewis was sitting in a lawn chair in the interstate's median when officers arrived, and that she was uncooperative and refused to speak to authorities.
Police investigated the victim's home at 2:30 p.m. that same day, per local outlet KROC. Upon arriving, officers found a "scene indicating violence."
Law&Crime reported that the scene included a missing knife, a bloody plastic and metal object on the bed, and antifreeze and a shovel inside the home.
The outlet also reported that the victim was 35-year-old Liara Tsai, Lewis' ex-girlfriend.
